Official Performance Specs for the 2022 Kia EV6
Several weeks ago, we brought you some very preliminary information about the first fully electrified vehicle from Kia, the EV6. In that time, the information has gone from informed estimates to Kia-verified fact, after the global automaker officially unveiled the new platform to the world. The team of product experts working at the Concord Kia showroom is very excited to share the official performance specs for the 2022 Kia EV6 with potential customers. Our manufacturing partner didn’t take an existing chassis architecture and just slap an electric motor on it and hope for the best. The team developed the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) from the ground-up to get the most out of the new series of electric vehicle technologies. Let’s take a closer look.

“The EV6 marks a new and transformative era in Kia electrification,” Sean Yoon, president & CEO, Kia North America, Kia America, said in a press release. “This innovative crossover leverages the many benefits of its advanced platform to offer a level of technological excitement and convenience that will provide a superb ownership experience.”
When the 2022 Kia EV6 goes on sale in the early months of 2022, Concord Kia customers will have a few different battery-and-motor configurations to consider. Rear-wheel-drive models of the EV6 will have a 160-kilowatt rear-mounted electric motor that can use a 58 or 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack, producing 167 and 218 horsepower, respectively.
An all-wheel-drive variant will also be available when the EV6 launches. The 77.4 kWh battery will send power to a 70kW motor in the front and a 160kW motor in the rear. This setup will produce 313 horsepower and push the 2022 EV6 from zero-to-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
Interior Space Measurements
As you can see from the photos, the 2022 Kia EV6 has the same form factor as many small to midsize crossover SUVs. The vehicle’s cargo dimensions reflect this as well. When people are sitting in the rear seat, there will be 27.7 cubic-feet of cargo volume behind them to use. Folding the rear seat down will open up the cargo bay to be able to accommodate as much as 53.5 cubic-feet of cargo.
